C.C. Designs Birthday Shaker Cards with Backgrounds using Nuvo Shimmer Powders

Hi everyone, I'm back today with 2 Birthday cards I made using C.C. Designs stamps & a couple of the backgrounds I made last weekend using my Nuvo Shimmer Powders. If you haven't already seen my last post, it was all about how I made the backgrounds, plus lots more so check it out, it even has a video.

These are the 2 cards...

To start, I stamped my images from the stamp set Under The Sea by C.C. Designs in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on some smooth white card stock, then coloured them in using Copic markers. After everything was coloured, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I then used 2 more dies from MFT, another Stitched Rectangle die & one from the set called Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX, to cut out the windows from my panels to make the shaker part. After I cut the middles out, I lined them up on my card bases & glued the inside parts down so that I could line them up perfectly before adhering my acetate sheets to the back.

After I glued on the acetate sheets, I doubled up some foam tape & placed it all over the backs. I put some clear jewels & blue sequins inside, then placed my panels over the top & pressed it all down well.

The Birthday words were cut from some shiny blue card stock & black for the shadow, with a Penny Black die called Birthday. This is a great die when you just want to add a sentiment on the front, but you don't want to stamp anything. I love the font & that it is all in one piece.

I glued the Happy Birthday words down flat & popped the images up with some foam tape for some extra dimension. I also used my Nuvo Shimmer pen to add some extra sparkle to the images.

Lastly, I stamped the inside of the cards with some of the same images & a sentiment from the set. I used MFT's Lush Lagoon Ink & used the second generation stamping for the image so that it wasn't so dark, but used it as is for the sentiment. I just love the sentiments in this set, they are so cute!

Here is a photo of the inside of the cards...

Here is my video on YouTube, showing the whole process:

Thanks for stopping by & I hope to see you again soon :-)
