MFT Colour Challenge #91

I'm back today with another card to enter into a MFT challenge. This time is for their Colour Challenge.

These are the colours to follow along with:

And this is the card I made today:

I didn't have the exact 2 yellow colours, so I just chose ones similar, but I did have the pinks :-)

First I cut a piece of watercolour card stock using the largest of the Stitched Rectangle STAX from set 2, then cut some circles out of it using the Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX. I blended on some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink onto the circle cutouts, then splattered them with some of the ink mixed with water. On the rectangle piece, I used MFT's Mini Raindrops Stencil & sponged on some Cotton Candy ink.

I stamped some images from the new Rain or Shine stamps set & watercolored them using all MFT inks, except for the skin.

Here are the colours I used:

Girl

  • Tea Dye Distress Ink for the skin

  • Cotton Candy & Ripe Raspberry for her Umbrella & Pants

  • Banana Split for her hair

  • Daffodil for her coat & boots

Chicks

  • Banana Split, Daffodil & Orange Zest for the beaks & feet

Sun

  • Banana Split & Daffodil

Water Puddle & Splashes

  • Blue Breeze

After everything was coloured & dry, I cut them out using the matching dies, then used my white gel pen to add in some extra details like spots, stripes & highlights. The stitched rectangle is popped up with foam tape & the circles are glued flat to the card base. I popped some of the images up with foam tape & stuck some down flat. I used my Spectrum Noir Glitter pen to add some sparkle to the sun, water puddle, splashes of water, & the girls coat & boots. I then applied glossy accents to the water, girls coat & boots so they're all shiny. Lastly I added some Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets in a few places & that completes my card for this challenge.

Here are some close ups of the awesome shiny accents:

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed reading how I made this cute card :-)
